Douglas Rusk RCT, RAC, RPC-C (He/Them) - Founder, Counselor, Life Coach - Book Now - Douglas Rusk

Introducing Douglas, a highly qualified and experienced cisgender gay man who utilizes he/him and they/them pronouns, and holds a Diploma in Professional Counseling, and certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Addictions Treatment and Treatment Aftercare. With a lived experience of Medical Trauma, Polyamorous Relationship Dynamics, and the 2SLGBTQIA+ Life Experience, Douglas brings a unique perspective and understanding to his practice.

Years ago, Douglas embarked on his own journey of personal healing, and through the power of introspection and reflection, he discovered that true healing and growth can only come from within. He operates from a core belief that access to mental health support is a fundamental human right, and that true barrier-free mental health is affected through community and relationships, not transactions. He is an advocate for fostering human connection and his mission is to decolonize mental health care.

As a practitioner, Douglas is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore and navigate their own inner landscapes. He is not here to push or sell any specific treatment or approach, but to offer what is most useful and effective for each individual, and to help them discover, through the power of reflection, an unused inner resource: their own inner navigator.

Through his founded mental health collective Dark Water Navigations, Douglas is dedicated to providing accessible mental health support to all. Every session booked through Dark Waters sponsors a session for someone seeking aid through community resources.

No matter what journey you find yourself on, Douglas is ready to offer his expertise and guidance to help you navigate the tumultuous waters of life. With his compassionate approach, lived experience, and holistic understanding of the human condition, he is the ideal companion on your journey towards self-discovery, growth and healing.
